Green Industrial Transformation through Education in Kosovo and Albania
The GITEKA project represents a transformative collaboration between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and the manufacturing industry in Kosovo, Albania , and Poland. Its overarching aim is to fortify the connection between academia and industry, ensuring that educational content and research are closely aligned with industrial needs. This alignment is focused particularly on traditional manufacturing sectors, with an emphasis on green skills. Key to the project is the development and integration of new modules in HEI curricula that reflect the latest industry trends and technologies. It also aims to establish partnerships between HEIs and industry for practical learning experiences, enhancing student employability. Additionally, the project involves training programs for faculty and industry professionals, fostering a platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative research, and promoting sustainable practices in both education and industry. The project also seeks to modernize HEI governance and operational structures for better industry responsiveness and encourages internationalization through cross-border collaborations. These efforts are designed to enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of the manufacturing sector in Europe, create new job opportunities, and ensure the relevance of higher education in the rapidly evolving global job market.
